Class 7 student drowns in Bhadreshwar pond during after-school swim

Tragedy struck in Bhadreshwar as a Class 7 student, identified as Vikas Behera (13), drowned while bathing with friends after school hours. The incident occurred near the local swimming pool, adjacent to KGRS Sports, where Vikas, a student of a nearby private school, went for a swim with his friends.

Despite efforts to rescue him, Vikas was pronounced dead upon arrival at Chandannagar Hospital.According to reports, Vikas and his friends were bathing in a pond near the swimming pool when the unfortunate incident took place. While Vikas and three others were indulging in playful activities, they suddenly found themselves in distress.

Despite successful rescue attempts for the other three individuals, Vikas was unable to be revived. The exact circumstances leading to Vikas's drowning remain under investigation.
