Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari urged industrialists to invest in West Bengal during the inauguration of the textile industry conference at the Milon Mela premises. Criticizing the previous 34 years of Left rule and 15 years of Trinamool rule, he stated that the state had lagged behind over the last 50 years. He assured investors that under the double-engine government, the state is transforming and creating a favorable environment for industrial growth.
Highlighting key investment developments, the Chief Minister announced that major companies are actively expanding their presence in the state. He stated that Lux Cozi has expanded its manufacturing unit, Shyam Steel is making new investments supported by updated land policies, and dairy major Amul is establishing sweet curd and ice cream factories across North and South Bengal. He emphasized that land clearances are being streamlined to facilitate these projects.
Adhikari further noted that his administration is prioritizing the tea and textile sectors, having discussed development plans with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Fulfilling election promises within its first three months, the government maintains a zero-tolerance policy against hooliganism to safeguard businesses. He expressed confidence that these structural changes will visibly improve Bengal's industrial landscape over the next one to two years.
