Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took a swipe at the BJP's election pledges, stating that instead of delivering on their promise of creating 20 crore jobs, the government took away 12 crore jobs. Addressing the pressing issue of unemployment, Kharge emphasized the need for an "employment revolution" and outlined the Congress party's commitments to addressing the job crisis if elected to power.
Kharge highlighted several employment guarantees proposed by the Congress, including initiatives like 'Bharti Bharosa', 'Pehli Naukri Pakki', and 'Freedom from paper leaks'. These initiatives aim to fill 30 lakh government job posts, ensure first jobs for degree/diploma holders through apprenticeships, and provide social security for workers in the gig economy. Additionally, Kharge pledged to scrap the Agneepath military recruitment scheme and waive student education loan dues along with interest, among other measures aimed at alleviating unemployment and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and sports talents.
