Addressing a gathering in Kumarganj, Mamata Banerjee voiced apprehensions about her and Abhishek Banerjee's safety, asserting, "The BJP is targeting me and Abhishek, we are not safe, but we are also not afraid of the saffron party's conspiracy." She emphasized the need for vigilance among TMC members and citizens, cautioning against potential plots aimed at destabilizing their leadership and causing unrest in the state.
Reacting to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's recent statement about an impending "big explosion," Banerjee condemned him as a turncoat who had joined the BJP to safeguard his family and amassed wealth. Dismissing Adhikari's threats, she remarked, "Let me tell him, his threat to trigger a chocolate bomb explosion is treated with contempt by us." Additionally, Banerjee criticized the Central government's decision to change the color of Doordarshan's logo to saffron, questioning the motives behind such actions.
In response to Banerjee's assertions, Union Minister Rajnath Singh countered during a rally in Murshidabad, alleging an atmosphere of anarchy in West Bengal under her leadership. Singh vowed to address such incidents, citing the Sandeshkhali episode, and pledged to restore order if the BJP came to power in the state.
