Massive fire engulfed a residence in Nandibagan, Howrah, on Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 pm, triggering panic among residents. Flames erupted from a five-storey house, burning several cars parked on the ground floor to ashes.
Three houses were destroyed in the fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Upon receiving the news, North Howrah MLA Gautam Chaudhary visited the scene and informed that 84 families reside in the building, out of which three are affected.
Five fire engines were deployed to control the fire. However, no casualties have been reported and the fire was contained in time. Fire department stated that electrical wires have not been installed properly and falt owners will be instructed accordingly.
