Security forces retrieve 7050 detonators stolen by naxalites in Chaibasa

In a significant development, security forces in Jharkhand have thwarted a major conspiracy by Naxalites, recovering 35 bags of detonators near the forest of Vangram Rajbhasha under Tonto police station of Chaibasa. Acting on secret information regarding the presence of top Maoist leaders Misir Besra, Anmol Mochhu, Chaman, and Ajay Mehta along with their squad in the Kolhan area, the police and Jharkhand Jaguar personnel initiated a joint search operation. The recovered detonators, buried underground by the Naxalites with the intent to target security forces, were promptly defused by bomb disposal squad personnel.

This successful operation underscores the ongoing threat posed by Naxalite groups in the region, particularly amidst the backdrop of upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Despite efforts to disrupt the electoral process, security forces remain vigilant and fully prepared to ensure peaceful elections. Notably, this seizure comes in the wake of a similar incident a year ago when Naxalites looted 7750 detonators from the Merelgada explosive storehouse, later concealing them in the Kolhan area. The coordinated efforts of Chaibasa Police, Jharkhand Jaguar team, bomb disposal squad, and CRPF battalions have been instrumental in curbing Naxalite activities and maintaining security in the region.
