Summer break for govt schools from April 22

• State government declares early holiday for government schools starting from April 22
• Decision attributed to extreme heatwave conditions affecting student well-being

There is severe heat wave in the state. For this reason, summer holidays in schools can be announced soon. According to sources, there will be summer holidays in the state from 22nd April i.e. Monday. Holidays can be available from 22nd April to 2nd June.This year the summer holidays were to start from May 6.

However, in view of the increasing heat conditions in the state, holidays can be announced earlier. If there is a holiday from 22nd April i.e. Monday, the number of summer holidays will increase. In such a situation, you can get continuous leave from 22nd April to 2nd June.

In this matter, Bengali Teachers and Education Workers Association leader Swapan Mandal said, 'I have heard that summer holidays will be given from April 22, but we do not support it. We demanded that schools should remain closed till April 22 due to the current heat. The weather may improve after 22nd, hence I request the government to reconsider this decision."
