Retired IAS officer Anil Verma has been appointed as the Chairman of the West Bengal Public Service Commission (PSC), according to a notification issued by the Finance Department of the Government of West Bengal on August 3. The notification states that the Governor has made the appointment under Article 316(1) of the Constitution of India. The appointment will take effect from the date Anil Verma assumes charge of the office.
The notification, issued from Nabanna, has been signed by the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal. It also states that copies of the order have been forwarded to the Chief Secretary, the Secretary to the Governor, the Public Service Commission, the Principal Accountant General, the Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, senior Finance Department officials, and other concerned authorities for information and necessary action.
