Daring dacoity took place at a cloth firm (gadi) located at 119 Cotton Street in the Posta area of Burrabazar, Kolkata. Four helmet-wearing, bike-borne miscreants barged into the office belonging to a Gujarat-based company and looted ₹1.5 crore at gunpoint before making a swift escape.
Despite the massive scale of the robbery, no official complaint has been lodged by the business owner so far. The unusual delay from the victim firm's side has raised several questions for local authorities.
The Kolkata Police have initiated a thorough probe into the incident. Officers are intensively scanning local CCTV footage from the surrounding congested alleys of Cotton Street and Posta to track the movement and escape route of the armed miscreants.
