The state government has officially initiated the process to clear long-pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears for employees of government-aided institutions. Following Supreme Court directions, government employees had part of their outstanding DA deposited into their Provident Fund accounts in March, while pensioners received direct bank transfers. However, teachers and non-teaching staff of grant-in-aid schools, along with panchayat and municipal workers, were left waiting despite multiple discussions following the government transition.
According to official sources, the Finance Department is now prioritizing the settlement of these delayed funds for staff who do not draw direct permanent salaries from the state treasury. This decision covers employees across government-approved schools, panchayats, municipalities, statutory boards, and corporations governed under the Ropa 2009 framework. Concerned departments have been instructed to expedite the documentation to ensure eligible personnel receive their dues without further delay.
To ensure a smooth rollout, IT personnel responsible for managing salary and administrative portals across various departments have been directed to temporarily halt the submission of any other financial arrears bills. The administration has mandated that all outstanding DA bills for these specific categories be fully prepared within the next 15 days, paving the way for the final disbursement of the long-awaited funds.
