The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lodged a written complaint at Diamond Harbour Police Station against actress Sreelekha Mitra, alleging that she shared a controversial photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. The complaint was submitted by the BJP's Diamond Harbour organisational district leadership, which sought legal action in the matter. The incident has triggered political activity in the area.
Before submitting the complaint, BJP workers and supporters organised a protest march that began in the New Town area and passed through different parts of Diamond Harbour before reaching the police station. A party delegation later handed over the complaint to the police and demanded prompt action, including the arrest of Sreelekha Mitra if warranted under the law.
