Expressing deep concern over the severe flood situation in neighboring Assam, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari proposed extending financial assistance worth ₹10 crore from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Speaking in the State Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Assam, where nearly 100 people have lost their lives due to widespread flooding.
The Chief Minister stated that it is essential to extend a helping hand to neighboring regions during major natural calamities. He emphasized that the proposed financial aid aims to assist ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected population across Assam's inundated districts.
Arrangements are being made by the West Bengal government to transfer the ₹10 crore relief fund directly to the Chief Minister of Assam. The announcement reflects interstate solidarity to help alleviate the hardship faced by thousands of displaced flood victims.
