Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited veteran actor and senior politician Mithun Chakraborty at a private hospital near the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass on Friday morning. Accompanied by Jadavpur MLA Sharvari Mukherjee and other officials, the Chief Minister interacted with the attending medical team to inquire about Chakraborty's physical condition and ongoing recovery after he underwent surgery at the facility.
The veteran actor had previously campaigned extensively across West Bengal during the 2026 assembly elections despite facing age-related health challenges and mid-campaign ailments. Following the election victory and his oath-taking ceremony as Chief Minister, Adhikari had earlier visited Chakraborty at his New Town residence to acknowledge his contributions. Upon learning about Chakraborty's hospital admission for the surgical procedure, Adhikari traveled from his Chinar Park residence directly to the medical facility.
According to official hospital sources, the surgery was successful and Mithun is currently stable and in good health. Doctors treating Chakraborty confirmed that his vital parameters are steady, and he is expected to be discharged within the next one to two days.
