The first meeting of the syllabus committee was held on Tuesday at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Salt Lake to discuss the development of a new curriculum for students. The meeting was attended by Higher Education Minister Jagannath Chatterjee, School Education Minister Deepak Barman, Minister of State for Education Kaushik Chowdhury, Information Technology and Electronics Minister Kalyan Chakraborty, Education Secretary Vinod Kumar, and syllabus committee member Arindam Banerjee. The committee deliberated on key aspects of curriculum development for the state's education system.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, School Education Minister Deepak Barman said the syllabus committee had been constituted to examine the need for a curriculum that would support the overall development of the student community. He stated that the discussions focused on creating a syllabus that would address the educational requirements of both the present and future generations of students while promoting their academic and overall growth.
