Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, was killed in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi district on Thursday. The incident occurred along the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway under the jurisdiction of the Poonch police station. Aban was travelling alongside four companions from Prayagraj to visit his elder brother, Ali Ahmed, who is currently lodged in the Jhansi district jail.
According to police officials, the tragedy occurred when the high-speed vehicle lost control and crashed into a concrete highway divider. The impact severely mangled the front portion of the car, killing Aban and his associate Sonu on the spot. Three other occupants sustained critical injuries in the collision and were immediately rushed by emergency responders to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Senior police officers arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information to assess the situation and initiate an investigation into the cause of the crash. Preliminary probes suggest that excessive speed and a sudden loss of vehicle control led to the fatal impact. Meanwhile, security measures around the hospital and surrounding areas have been heightened following the incident.
