India finished the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a total of 39 medals, comprising 13 gold, 17 silver, and nine bronze. Although the final tally fell short of the symbolic 50-medal benchmark maintained since 2002 due to a reduced sports lineup, the campaign was defined by groundbreaking records across several key disciplines. On the final day of competition, Indian athletes in judo and cycling competed hard but were unable to add further to the nation's tally.
The campaign was anchored by an unprecedented performance in boxing, where Indian pugilists converted ten final appearances into seven gold and three silver medals, recording the most successful boxing campaign by any nation in CWG history. Weightlifting provided an early momentum boost with eight medals, headlined by Mirabai Chanu securing her third consecutive CWG gold medal. Additionally, judo achieved its best-ever showing as Harsh Singh and Asmita Dey captured India's first-ever CWG gold medals in the sport.
India's para-athletes matched their combined medal tally from all previous CWG editions, bringing home seven medals including three golds from Sharmila, Dilip Mahadu Gavit, and Soman Rana. The track and field contingent contributed ten medals, with Tejaswin Shankar winning India's first decathlon medal, Gulveer Singh becoming the first Indian athlete to win two medals at a single CWG edition, and Neeraj Chopra taking silver in the men's javelin event.
