Fasting activist Devendra Nath Mahto joined the Jharkhand Assembly protest march on a stretcher after being brought to the site in an ambulance. Mahto, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for nine days against alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations, was carried by fellow students toward the Assembly premises. Speaking from the stretcher, he asserted that the protesting youth would not be stopped and stated that the government would ultimately have to accept their demands.
The protest march saw thousands of students marching toward the Jharkhand Assembly to press for their demands regarding recruitment exam reforms. Student volunteers actively managed the crowd along the route, directing participants to maintain peace and prevent any disruption. Protesters reiterated their commitment to keeping the demonstration orderly, ensuring that the march proceeded without chaos or violence despite the high intensity of the agitation.
The presence of the ailing activist gave momentum to the ongoing agitation, which has seen repeated standoffs between student bodies and the state government. While the administration deployed security forces along the march route to maintain law and order, students continued their demonstration peacefully. The protesters maintained that their movement would continue until all issues surrounding the competitive examinations were fully resolved by the state administration.
