Kolkata is slowly limping back to normalcy after witnessing one of the heaviest rainfalls in recent memory on Monday. While traffic has resumed smoothly on several key stretches, multiple localities across the city continue to remain waterlogged.

Traffic movement was reported to be normal on important roads such as EM Bypass (southbound), Maa Flyover, Rabindra Sarani, AJC Bose Road Flyover, 2nd Hooghly Bridge (city bound), Alipore Road, Lenin Sarani, MG Road, Central Avenue, CR Avenue, and ATM Road.

However, areas like Central Avenue, Park Circus, Patuli, Minto Park, Mukundapur, and Kankurgachi are still facing waterlogging issues. Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) workers are carrying out continuous operations to drain the water. According to KMC’s claim, waterlogging in Strand Road, Brabourne Road, Netaji Subhas Road, BB Ganguly Street, Old Court House Street, Rabindra Sarani, MG Road to Girish Park, Vivekananda Road, and JM Avenue is expected to clear by late tonight.
