Political speculation has intensified around Rajya Sabha MP and former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar after he was seen conversing with NCPI spokesperson Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. The interaction took place during a meeting convened by Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil in New Delhi to discuss state development projects, which was attended by MPs across political lines, including TMC's Pratima Mondal.
The meeting comes amid ongoing political realignments in West Bengal following recent electoral outcomes and the departure of several Rajya Sabha MPs from the TMC. Rumors regarding Rajeev Kumar’s political stance gained traction after Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar shared a social media post showing them seated together, clarifying that the discussion centered on implementing piped drinking water projects across households in the state.
Although Rajeev Kumar was present at the party's recent Martyr's Day gathering, his subsequent absence from organizational programs has further fueled discussions regarding his political future. However, no official statement or confirmation has been made regarding any potential shift in his political alignment.
