India secured its sixth gold medal at the Commonwealth Games after Preeti Pawar defeated Canada's Savannah Dolmago in the final of the women's 54kg boxing event. The victory took India's overall medal tally to 24, including six gold medals, and lifted the country to ninth place in the medal standings. India remains in contention for more medals, with nine additional Indian boxers competing for gold, while athletes are also scheduled to participate in medal events across athletics, para-athletics, judo, track cycling and lawn bowls. A total of 44 gold medal events are being held during the day, including 19 in athletics and para-athletics, 14 in boxing, six in track and para-track cycling, and five in judo.
