The West Bengal government has decided to award the 'Chief Minister's Medal of Honor' to six IPS officers in recognition of their outstanding contributions and performance at work. The awards will be presented during the official Independence Day celebrations.
Among the awardees is senior IPS officer Damayanti Sen, who previously spearheaded key investigations including the 2012 Park Street gang-rape case. The other five IPS officers selected for this honor are Ajay Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Singh, Jayaraman, Pranab Kumar, and Kunal Agarwal.
The state administration highlighted that these recognitions are being conferred based strictly on professional merit, integrity, and dedication to duty. By honoring these officers on August 15, the government aims to acknowledge their steadfast service and commitment to justice despite challenging circumstances.
