The state government has strengthened the security of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari by providing him with a bulletproof vehicle following a recent security review and intelligence inputs. According to sources, the decision was taken after the Special Task Force (STF) arrested a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed operative, during whose investigation agencies found indications that a cross-border terror network was allegedly monitoring the Chief Minister's movements and convoy. The bulletproof vehicle has now been added to his existing Z-Plus security cover provided by the CRPF.
According to sources, the security review included a comprehensive assessment of the Chief Minister's protection arrangements after the STF operation. It is reported that a bulletproof Scorpio vehicle had already been used during his visits to Delhi. With the latest enhancement, the Chief Minister will now also travel in a white bulletproof vehicle for official movement within the state as part of the revised security protocol.
