A young man's body was found on Lane No. 2 in Swamiji Nagar, Newtown, early on Thursday, triggering concern in the area. Local residents identified the deceased as Sourav Biswas, a resident of Adarsha Palli in Newtown. After locals spotted the body lying beside the road, they alerted Eco Park Police Station. Police reached the spot, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Investigators are examining whether the death was caused by murder or other circumstances, with the exact cause expected to be established through the post-mortem report.
Police have also obtained CCTV footage from the surrounding area that shows a young man carrying the body on his shoulder, leaving it at the location and then walking away. Investigators are examining the footage to identify the person and establish the circumstances surrounding the disposal of the body. The Eco Park police are continuing their investigation while awaiting the post-mortem findings.
