Girl on way to exam centre run over by truck in Ranchi, dies

• Class X student of APS was killed, her grandfather injured when the scooter they were riding ran over by a truck
• Ranchi admin is all set to issue an order to ensure smooth movement at the time of exams
• BJP legal cell president urged the admin to stop plying of heavy vehicles in Ranchi from 8 am to 10 am 

A Class X student of Army Public School was killed and her grandfather injured when the scooter they were riding ran over by a truck under Khelgoan police station on Wednesday.

Khelgoa police station officer Manoj Mahto said, “Simran Kumari (15) was going to Kendriya Vidyalaya in Army area for her matriculation examination when the incident took place. Simran died on the spot. Her grandfather Rajendra Prasad Ram sustained minor injuries.

Local people managed to catch the truck driver Santosh and beat him up. He was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences.

Meanwhile, the Ranchi administration is all set to issue an order to traffic DSPs, traffic police (PS) stations and other PSs to ensure smooth movement at the time of commencement of exams.

BJP legal cell president Sudhir Srivastava urged the administration to stop plying of heavy vehicles in Ranchi from 8 am to 10 am for the safety of students going to examination centres.
