The process of selecting the idols of Lord Shri Ramlal for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has been completed. A consensus was reached on the idol created by Maharashtra craftsman Virajman. The idol will be enshrined at the Ram Mandir shrine in Ayodhya.
The idol of Ramlala will stand 51 inches tall on a lotus. Ramlala will be seated holding a bow and arrow in her hand.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone for Ram Mandir’s Garbhagriha in Ayodhya on June 21, 2021. The event was attended by seers and saints from across the country. Notably, construction work on the Ram Mandir began on 5 August 2020 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone.
Earlier on Monday, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJBTK), which is the body responsible for the operations of the Ram Mandir and overseeing the construction, said that the construction of the Ram Mandir is in full swing.
Sharing the progress report, SRJBTK said that the foundation has been laid and the work of raising the plinth or plinth which started on January 24, 2021, is still going on. By December 2023, the temple's sanctum sanctorum, housing the idol of Ram Lalla, will be ready for worship.
