According to Kangana Ranaut, she was ready to open her restaurant in the hills but was delayed because of financial difficulties. The actor's most recent film, Dhaakad (2022), did poorly at the box office. Kangana previously claimed that she had mortgaged her home in order to pay for Emergency, her debut solo directorial effort. In the movie, she portrays Indira Gandhi.

On Sunday, Kangana posted a clip of a previous interview. Other than movies, he appears to have asked Kangana what she wanted. Along with the video clip, she wrote: "Another interview from more than a decade ago, yes cooking is very much on my agenda ... had some financial setbacks last year otherwise I was all set to launch my restaurant in the valley, will be coming soon though. Thanks to my fans for these clips I had forgotten about these interactions, but look when we build intentions we set destiny GPS (global positioning system), so cultivate intentions, not desires."

Emergency, which also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik, just wrapped up filming with Kangana. She is now working on her Telugu movie Chandramukhi 2.

The actor admitted in January that she had mortgaged "all her homes, all she owned" to make Emergency, which she also produced. She spoke to reporters at a party about the possibility of losing her possessions if the movie doesn't perform well at the box office. She quoted, " Main iss sheher mein ₹500 leke ayi thi aur main phir se agar puri tarha se barbad ho jati hoon toh main phirse pure tarha se khadi ho sakti hoon, mujh mein itna confidence aur itni himmat hai. Mere liye koi mayne nahi rakhte hai possessions (I came to Mumbai with only ₹500, so even if I am completely ruined, I have the confidence and strength to stand up on my feat once again. Possessions hold no meaning for me)."

Kangana recently underwent renovations in her Mumbai house, and she posted numerous pictures of the space to Instagram.
