ED raids Santanu's close aides office, found many important documents

• ED has raided the Salt Lake office of promoter Ayan Ghoshal, who is believed to be close to Santanu Banerjee
• ED sources claim that many documents related to recruitment have been recovered from that office in the raid
• ED officials took the signature of Ayan's father Sadanand Sheel on several documents

The ED has raided the Salt Lake office of promoter Ayan Ghoshal, who is believed to be close to Santanu Banerjee, who was arrested in the West Bengal teacher recruitment corruption case.  The search operation for ED, which began on Saturday night, is continuing till 12 noon on Sunday.

ED sources claim that many documents related to recruitment have been recovered from that office in the raid.  Even several documents containing the names of teacher candidates have been found in Ayan's office. Investigators are probing how such important documents reached the office of a promoter despite not being a government official.

According to ED sources, apart from employment-related documents, some property-related documents have also been found.  Earlier, ED officials had interrogated some people close to Shantanu at a resort in Balagarh on Saturday.  

A team of ED also reached Ayan's house.  Shantanu has a flat in Jagudas Pada in Awaas developed by Ayan.  ED also questioned promoter Ayan and his parents.  The house was also searched.  While leaving Ayan's house, many files were seen in the hands of the ED officials.  According to Ayan's family sources, the ED officials took the signature of Ayan's father Sadanand Sheel on several documents.

Sadanand said that ED officials searched his house.  ED wanted to know from Ayan's father whether his son (Ayan) is involved in the recruitment scam.  It is not possible for him to tell whether his son is involved in any corruption or not.  However, he said that he would extend all possible cooperation to the ED in the investigation.

According to ED sources, Ayan had rented a house for office in FD Block in Salt Lake three years ago.  Shaibal Chakraborty, the owner of that house, said that when Ayaan rented the house three years ago, he claimed to be working for a film production house.
