Priyanka Chopra, a well-known Bollywood actress, began her career in Hollywood after abandoning the Hindi film industry because of shady politics. After winning Miss World in 2000, the actress entered the movie industry, but it was never an easy road.

PC has been the talk of the internet ever since she revealed her allegations about the sinister side of Bollywood and the reason she quit the Bollywood industry. The actress from the Citadel made some more shocking admissions about getting lightened up for her dark skin in an interview.

The actress acknowledged that colorism is accepted in the field because she remembered being labeled as dusky at the beginning of her career when she didn't even understand what the phrase meant. She used cosmetics to lighten her parts, but she also appeared in a commercial for a fairness cream because she was a beauty brand spokesperson. She stated that a beauty brand has a significant role in an actress' career.

She also recalled how cosmetics were used to change her appearance due to her dark skin tone and that casting for movies favored those with fairer skin. According to Priyanka Chopra, makeup and intense lighting were used to brighten her up in numerous movies. "It was named 'Chitti dudh kudi,' which means a girl who is as white as milk and I ain't that, but I was portraying her and I was really lightened up in the movie," she recounted of filming for a song.

In terms of her professional life, Priyanka Chopra will next be seen in the Russo Brothers spy drama Citadel, which will premiere in April 2023 on Amazon Prime Video. Together with that, she has the American romantic comedy Love Again scheduled for release on May 12, 2023. She will return to Bollywood after a long absence with Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
